PHP shorthand tag

Great program folks!!

I have noticed the purifier produce different results on the php shorthand tag <? $code... ?> than the standard <?php $code.. ?> tag style.

On the shorthand tag, HTML purifier only removes the opening tag, the closing tag and the code content is displayed in HTMLcharacters.

echo shorthand style <?= ?> also produces unwanted result.

however <?xml $code ?> is successfully removed.

I have not look into the source code but I would think it should be a easy fix in the reg expression.

Thank you.

What would your ideal desired result be?

I think the ideal result would be the removal of the entire php code. same result as the <?php ?> and <?xml ?> ... would you agree?

Granted the output is still safe, but however php codes are not meant to be displayed in the first place.

thank you
