Is there an easy way to disallow everything by default?

Yes, but in that case I don't see why you don't striptags and htmlspecialchars the remains. (Hint: %HTML.Allowed might be a good place to start looking.)

Thank you for your reply. The reason is because i simply don't want to use 3 different ways to handle the html escaping; I want to cover all my cases with htmlpurifier (complete removal of html is just one of them).
