Easiest way to update version

A couple of years ago I installed HTMLPurifier, but didn't end up using it. I need it again and got the old version working, but would like to upgrade to the latest version. What is the easiest way to do this on RedHat Linux? Do I have to completely reinstall? I am a programmer, not a Linux admin, so please spell everything out for me. I greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter.

Thanks, J

IIRC, RedHat package just adds the HTML Purifier PEAR channel, so maybe 'pear upgrade hp/htmlpurifier' should do the trick
